2008 Consumer Survey

During 2008 we surveyed 250 parents and teachers outside leisure venues and shopping centres all across the UK.

When asked about their experiences, 98% of them responded that they would like to see UK leisure venues and retailers focusing more strongly on child safety, even if this came at a reasonable cost to the consumer.

When the Childminder system was described to them, 86% of parents and 97% of teachers/carers responded that the availability of such a system would strongly influence their choice of which leisure venue or shopping centre to visit with their children.

Any parent, teacher or carer entering a crowded and noisy leisure facility or retail outlet with one or more children will tell you that there is very little chance of being able to control (or often see) a child all of the time, particularly if they are being allowed to roam or play relatively freely, which is normal in these types of locations.

More often than not this makes adults feel uneasy, worried or concerned; and this is perfectly justified because unfortunately children do often become lost or separated from adults when out enjoying themselves.

Kids get lost or separated for many reasons - mostly by accident, because of their own natural curiosity or excitement, or just through plain mischief! So we created a system to address this….

Overview

Leisure and retail managers can now substantially improve children's safety and can also enjoy significantly enhanced revenue and profits.

You will gain a competitive edge over your rivals and build customer loyalty as an adult's enjoyment of your facilities is enhanced and consumers look to choose your facilities over and above others with less focus on child safety. On installation of our system, venues are also awarded ChildMINDER^® Accreditation Scheme (“CAS”) Approved Status, to our national safety standards.

Our system comprises comfortable and secure wristbands (with corresponding parental ID tags) which are hired out by venues to parents and teachers. The wristbands are locked safely to their children and are only removed once a corresponding ID tag is presented by the accompanying adult. Lost children are linked to the accompanying adult’s contact details via a simple on-site database.

The wristbands activate alarms installed at venue exits or perimeter points, preventing children from leaving.

Inside our newly patented bands, we use highly effective, but low cost technology which has been proven reliable for over 20 years. Alarms are installed using a simple and cost-effective process at any type and size of location.

The reusable wristbands are hired out again and again by you as venue operators and hence provide you with a substantial new stream of income. As a result, the system pays for itself within a very short space of time.

System Components

The ChildMINDER^® system is an affordable combination of products and services available to operators of any type and size of leisure facility. It is under sole license, only available from Childminder UK Limited, and broadly includes:
